Acer Veriton all-in-one debuts

It seems like most of the time when I see a new computer getting launched it's either a netbook, nettop, or an all-in-one PC. All-in-ones and nettops are being aimed increasingly at business users who need a cheap computer for basic computing tasks.

Acer has announced a new addition to its Veriton line called the Acer Veriton Z280G-EA271CP. That is certainly a long name for a product. The machine starts at $499 and features an 18.5-inch LCD that measures only 19" x 15" x 2.14" making it very compact.

The little system runs an Intel Atom ULV processor that needs no fan making the Z280G very quiet and energy efficient. The screen has a resolution of 1366 x 768, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Wi-Fi is integrated and the machine runs Windows XP.
