Acer Liquid M330 unlocked smartphone launches in the US

Acer has several smartphones in the Liquid range and one of those devices is now available to purchase in the US. The smartphone is called the Acer Liquid M330 and it runs Windows 10. Since Windows is on board, the place to purchase the smartphone is directly from the Microsoft Store. The big feature of this smartphone is the price with an unlocked version selling for $99.

For the money, you get a Windows 10 smartphone running a Qualcomm MSM8909 dual core processor running at 1.1 GHz. That chipset is paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded using a microSD card slot up to 64GB in capacity.

The smartphone will operate on HSPA+/WCDMA: 850MHz/1900MHz/AWS band, GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850MHz/900MHz/1800MHz/1900MHz, and LTE: 1900MHz (B2), AWS (B4), 2600MHz (B7), 700MHz (B12) networks. The screen is a 4.5-inch unit with 854 x 480 resolution and supports touch control and auto rotation. Power comes from a removable 2000 mAh internal battery promising up to five hours of talk time and up to 250 hours standby.

The main rear camera is a 5MP unit with auto focus and LED flash. The front camera is a 5MP fixed focus unit. The smartphone does support dual SIM cards and has a 3.5mm headphone port, microUSB 2.0 charging, Bluetooth 4.0, and WiFi integrated. The device also supports GPS and weighs 5.11 ounces. All of those features are definitely in the low end of the smartphone realm. Anyone wanting to try out Windows 10 on a smartphone on a budget might want to try this device. Microsoft is shipping the device now with no shipping cost and free returns if you hate it.
