Acer Iconia Tab A100 on sale now

Acer's Iconia Tab A100 has finally gone on sale in the US, making it the first Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet with a 7-inch screen to hit shelves. Priced from $329.99, the A100 runs on NVIDIA's dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor and has a 1024 x 600 16:10 touchscreen, 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and an LED flash, and a front-facing 2-megapixel camera for video calls. There's also WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and MicroHDMI.

Other connectivity includes MicroUSB 2.0 and a 3.5mm headphones jack, together with a docking station port on the bottom. There's 1GB of RAM, a digital compass and accelerometer, along with 8GB of storage on the A100-07u08u and 16GB of storage on the A100-07u16u. Walmart will have its own version, the A100-07u08w, which is functionally identical to the general-spec 8GB version.

The Iconia Tab A100 can record 720p HD video at 30fps, and Acer will preload Flash Player 10.3 and its own LumiRead ereader app. There's also Social Jogger, Acer's Facebook and Twitter integration, DLNA support (wrapped up in Acer's clear.fi branding) and a microSD slot happy with up to 32GB cards.

Battery life is said to be up to five hours. The A100 goes on sale in the US today and in Canada next month; he 8GB models will be $329.99, while the 16GB version is $349.99 (or CA$399.99 in Canada). Full specs in the gallery below.
