Acer Aspire One 531 gets video unboxing & first-impressions

Acer's Aspire One 531 (aka the Aspire One A531) may have made its official debut on April 1st, but it's no joke. The super-skinny netbook has begun shipping in Europe, and Netbook News have the first unboxing video and hands-on impressions we've seen. Their particular 531 has the N270 Atom processor, though the 1.66GHz N280 is an option, and reportedly plays 720p HD video well.Unboxing video after the cut

Elsewhere, the keyboard may not have the isolated-chiclet design that is becoming popular on rival models, but it's comfortable and shows little flex. The screen is reportedly "too bright" which bodes well for notching it down and saving on battery life, which with the 6-cell pack sees Windows XP reporting 4hrs remaining despite 3hrs of use.

The Acer Aspire One 531 is priced at €349 ($455) in this configuration, with integrated WiFi and Bluetooth, together with a 160GB hard-drive and 1GB of RAM. However despite the box's suggestion, there's no integrated 3G modem or WiMAX.
