37-inch Sony Flat Screen HDTV Turns Out to Be Something More Oven Fresh

In San Leandro California, things aren't always what they seem. At least not when it comes to high definition televisions. One man thought he had a full-proof plan to make some quick cash, but as police quickly showed him, things don't always work out the way you'd expect.

The culprit was caught red-handed as he tried to sell a 37" Sony HDTV out of a Wal-Mart parking lot for a low-cost of $100, where he was telling would-be customers that he had purchased the television personally from a tag sale for $60. The man had taken a door off of his oven, covered it in stickers, wrapped it in celophane, stuck a Best Buy price label on the front, shoved some power cables and an installation book into the packaging, and then finally put the lot of it in an actual Sony TV box.

So yeah, the guy's a bit crazy, but there's a lot of ingenuity in there somewhere. We're sure people would be pleasantly surprised if this guy started using some of that creativity for good and not evil. We'll just have to wait and see if he changes his ways after this little incident.
