These are Ford's 5 Mustang Mach-E versions: GT to Select

Just like the Mustang range spans affordable through to crazy performance, so too will the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E be more than just one EV. Five trims are are being announced on day one, differentiated by things like whether they're rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD), and if they have the Standard Range or Extended Range battery.

Ford is equipping the Mustang Mach-E with a fairly impressive level of standard technology across the board, though there are some differences to be found. It's worth noting that all of Ford's performance figures are still targets, and could change before release; similarly, the range numbers are EPA estimates. All pricing is before the federal tax incentive of $7,500, and any other state incentives that might apply.

Mustang Mach-E Premium

The Premium trim will come in both RWD and AWD forms, each with a choice of the Standard Range (75.7 kWh) or the Extended Range (98.8 kWh) battery. With RWD and the Standard battery, you're looking at 230 miles on the EPA cycle, 0-60 mph in the low six second range, 255 hp, and 306 lb-ft of torque.

The AWD/Standard model should get 210 miles on a charge, and do 0-60 in the mid five second range. It's expected to have 255 hp and 417 lb-ft.

The RWD/Extended model should get the longest range, 300 miles. It's expected to do 0-60 in mid six seconds, have 282 hp, and 306 lb-ft. Finally, the AWD/Extended model will offer 270 miles, 0-60 in mid five seconds, 332 hp, and 417 lb-ft.

Premium trim will get 19-inch machined-face aluminum wheels with high gloss black painted pockets, LED projector headlamps, a hands-free power lift gate, and the panoramic glass roof. Inside, there'll be multi-color ambient lighting, heated front seats and steering wheel, memory driver seat and mirrors, and a 10-speaker B&O audio system. It'll be priced from $50,600 before incentives.

Mustang Mach-E First Edition

Limited in number, the First Edition will only be offered in a single configuration: all-wheel drive, with the Extended Range battery. That means 270 miles and 0-60 in the mid five second range, with 332 hp and 417 lb-ft of torque. It'll add red painted brake calipers to the Premium trim, along with contrast seat stitching and metallic pedal covers. It's priced from $59,900.

Mustang Mach-E Select

Entry-point to the range, the Select will only offer the Standard Range battery. With RWD, that's rated for 230 miles, 255 hp, and 306 lb-ft of torque; 0-60 should arrive in low six seconds. With AWD, you get 210 miles, 255 hp, and 417 lb-ft; 0-60 drops to mid five seconds.

Either way, there ar 18-inch carbonized gray-painted aluminum wheels, LED signature lights, and wireless phone charging inside. You don't get the glass roof, however. Ford says the Select should arrive in early 2021, priced from $43,895 – or $36,395 after the federal incentive.

Mustang Mach-E California Route 1

Range is the primary goal of the California Route 1 trim, with RWD and the Extended Range battery standard. That's enough for 300 miles, and 0-60 in the mid six second range. There'll be 282 hp and 306 lb-ft of torque.

Outside, there'll be special CA1 badging, along with the power liftgate; the glass roof is standard, too. Inside, there are memory seats and mirrors. Expect it in early 2021, priced from $52,400.

Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition

Most potent of the line-up, the GT will come in AWD only, and with the Extended Range battery for 235 miles of range. Ford says to expect 0-60 in the mid three second range, courtesy of 459 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. There's also Magneride Suspension.

The Mustang Mach-E GT rides on 20-inch premium forged machined-face wheels, and it gets beefier brakes, too: 19-inch ventilated discs and 4 fixed pistons at the front, and 19-inch solid discs with 4 sliding pistons at the back. At the front, there's a special carbonized gray grille. That has a shimmering texture applied to the back, and gives the GT a very different fascia to the regular car.

Standard features include the power liftgate; a Comfort package adds memory seats and mirrors, seat heating, and ambient lighting. A Miko suede-wrapped steering wheel and Ford Performance seats with Miko inserts are options. Ford says the GT should arrive in Spring 2021, priced from $60,500 before the incentive.

Standard and Optional Equipment

All Mustang Mach-E trims will get Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0, which includes reverse brake assist and reverse sensors, post-impact braking, blind-spot warnings with cross traffic alerts, pre-collision assistance, lane-keeping, a reversing camera, and auto high beams. There'll also be Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist 2.0, which adds adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, lane centering, speed sign recognition, and evasive steering assistance.

The Ford Co-Pilot Technology pack will be included on the Premium, First Edition, and California Route 1 trims. That includes active parking assistance and the 360-degree camera.

SYNC 4 is standard, with a 10.2-inch digital cluster and a 15.5-inch center touchscreen. That includes navigation, natural language voice recognition, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There'll be a wireless charging pad in each Mustang Mach-E version, and Phone As A Key will make its Ford debut on the EV.
