2020 Nissan Leaf starts at $31,600

Nissan has announced the pricing for the 2020 Nissan Leaf in the United States. The 2020 Leaf comes in S, SV, and SL trims. The S and SV are offered in Plus versions with larger battery packs. The SL only comes in plus version. The cheapest 2020 Nissan Leaf is the Leaf S with the 40 kWh battery pack that will sell for $31,600 plus the $925 destination charge.A Leaf SV with the 40kWh battery pack is $34,190 plus destination. Moving into the Plus range sees the Leaf S Plus with a 62 kWh battery starting at $38,200. Leaf SV Plus starts at $39,750, and the Leaf SL Plus costs $43,900. All versions are subject to the additional $925 destinations and handling fee.

There are some key changes made to all 2020 Leaf models, namely Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on all models. That includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Warning Lane Departure Warning, and High Beam Assist. All Leaf models also get Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Lane Intervention, and Blind Spot Intervention for the 2020 model year.

All 40 kWh Leaf cars get a standard 8-inch touchscreen display. The entire Leaf range gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Driver and front passenger knee airbags and rear seat-mounted outboard side-impact supplemental airbags are standard on all models. Nissan is also adding an optional Sunset Drift ChromaFlair paint color later in the year.

The pedestrian safety sound "canto" has updated tone and volume. Every Leaf gets a limited warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship for eight years or 100,000 miles. Leaf Plus vehicles promise up to 226 miles per charge; the 40 kWh units are good for 149 miles per charge.
