2020 Lexus RX gains new F Sport Performance Package

Lexus has unveiled the 2020 Lexus RX and RXL 3-row SUV. The SUVs have been updated inside and out for the 2020 model year including an updated Lexus Multimedia System and more. Changes to the outside of the RX line include new front and rear fascias and new standard 18-inch wheel design.

Lexus fits the SUVs with triple-beam LED headlights as an option. The updated infotainment system has an available 12.3-inch touchscreen paired with a remote touchpad with a powerful voice and nav functions. Lexus also integrated Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa voice assistant is supported.

The new front end of the RX family has slimmer headlamps, and the rear fascia has a diffuser, dual exhaust pipes, and updated reflector angle. Along with the new standard 18-inch wheels, new 20-inch wheels are included with the Luxury Grade.

Two new exterior colors are offered with Moonbean Beige Metallic and Nori Green Pearl, a color first used on the Lexus UX. Both versions get the Lexus Enform Safety connect system that includes a Pre-collision system with daytime bicyclist detection and low-light pedestrian detection. The system also includes road sign assist, lane tracing assist, and more. Lexus offers two F Sport packages; one RX F Sport package gives a look that includes visual upgrades only. An additional F Sport package with active variable suspension included that is more responsive than past systems.

The package also includes a cold air intake, active sound control, electric power steering, and a heated steering wheel. Hybrid options are offered with a powertrain offering 308 combined horsepower for 30 mpg on the RX and 29 mpg for the RXL. The hybrid system pairs a D4-S fuel injection 3.5L V6 with two electric motors providing AWD. Production will start in Q3 2019 with pricing announced closer to launch.
