2019 Toyota CH-R gains Apple CarPlay as standard

Toyota has announced some of the changes and new features that the 2019 CH-R gains for the model year. One of the significant changes in the tech department is that the car now has Apple CarPlay standard on all trim levels. For 2019 the ride also has different grade strategy.

Buyers can get the 2019 CH-R in LE, XLE, and Limited grades. Limited replaces the XLE Premium available in 2018. The LE has 17-inch steel wheels and LED DRL paired with halogen headlights. XLE buyers get Blind Spot Monitor + Rear Cross Traffic Alert with auto folding side mirrors.

That grade also has "Toyota CH-R" puddle lamps and a piano black upper console and switch base. Smart Key with push-button start is standard on XLE, and the Entune 3.0 Audio Plus system is optional. The top of the line Limited grade adds even more features.

Limited buyers get standard fog lamps, piano black B-pillar, "Limited" badging, chrome window trim, and leather-trimmed or leather-trimmed fabric front seats with driver power lumbar. Window trim is chrome, the front seats are heated, and the Entune 3.0 Audio Plus system is standard.

The Entune 3.0 Audio Premium system is optional on the Limited grade. Colors available on the CH-R include Blue Eclipse Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Black Sand Pearl, Silver Knockout Metallic, Ruby Flare Pearl, Blizzard Pearl, and all-new Blue Flame; last year's Radiant Green Mica is discontinued. R-Code is an option that pairs the body color with a black roof or a white roof. Power is still from a 144hp 2.0L four with a CVT transmission and FWD.
