2019 Mini Oxford Edition aims at recent grads and students for under $20,000

Certainly, the most expensive item that some people need when they head off to college is a new and reliable car they can drive around. Mini has announced that it has a special deal for college students and recent graduates to get them around. The car is the 2018 Mini Oxford Edition and a well-equipped version sells for under $20,000.

The Oxford Edition comes with $6,900 worth of options as standard. Mini will sell the Oxford edition to any full or part-time student at two or four-year colleges or universities. If you graduated in the last 12 months, you are also eligible for the deal. If you in a post-graduate degree program you are also eligible to purchase.

The MSRP for a 2-door Oxford edition is $19,750, the four-door version will sell for $20,750. Neither of those prices includes the $850 destination and handling fee. Standard equipment for the car includes a 6.5-inch high-resolution screen, rear-view camera, park distance control, mini Teleservices, and emergency calling.

The car rolls on upgraded 17-inch wheels in silver or black colors and can be had in automatic or manual. A dual-panel sunroof is offered along with heated seats and six different body colors.

That is a lot of equipment for the money. It's not clear how much the automatic transmission will add to the price. I doubt many college students today would be interested in a manual transmission.
