2019 BMW X4 gets official rocking improved aero and improved suspension

BMW has officially unveiled its new SUV, the 2019 BMW X4. The automaker says that the new X4 has sportier proportions, wider tracks, and the latest suspension settings with a lower center of gravity and improved aerodynamics. BMW says that the 2019 X4 is the second gen Sports Activity Coupe (but we know an SUV when we see it).

The 2019 X4 gains new standard safety equipment with Active Protection offering protective measures when an accident is imminent. That system tensions seatbelts and closes windows and moonroof to a small gap. The vehicle also has standard Active Guard with Front Collision Warning, City Collision Mitigation with Braking, Pedestrian Warning with City Braking, and Speed Limit information.

Nav is standard on the vehicle with a 10.25-inch display and multiple ways to interact with the touchscreen. BMW fits the vehicle with iDrive Touch Controller, intelligent voice control, and an optional 75% larger HUD. That HUD can show the nav directions just under the driver's line of view.

Other new features include a larger panoramic moonroof and 3-zone climate control system. The new X4 is 3-inches longer with a 2.1-inch wider wheelbase along with an extra 1.4-inches of width and 0.1-inch drop in height. Sport seats are standard along with Dark Oak wood accent strips inside.

The X4 can be optioned with Vernasca leather upholstery in an X4 exclusive color called Tacora Red or black with red or blue contrast stitching. That massive sunroof measures 36.4-inches long and 35-inches wide. xDrive AWD is available and the standard 30i engine is a 248hp four using twin-turbos while the M version gets 355hp. BMW says that the 2019 X4 will hit dealerships in July 2018 starting at $50,450 for a 30i and $60,450 for an M40i plus destination and handling.
