2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Tech Connect Package interfaces with Amazon Alexa

Jeep has announced that the 2018 Cherokee Latitude will have a new Tech Connect Package that allows the owner of the vehicle to control some functions of the car via the Uconnect skill for Amazon Alexa devices. That means that using an Amazon Echo smart speaker, owners will be able to use their voice to remotely start and stop the engine.

Voice commands will also be usable to lock and unlock doors, send commands to NAV systems, and monitor vehicle vitals. Cherokee Latitude buyers who get their vehicle with the Tech connect package will get an Amazon Echo Dot and a three-month subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited Family plans along with the Jeep. A three-month Audible membership is also available.

Latitude models with the Tech Connect package get a Diamond Black Crystal-painted lower cladding and gloss black trim on the upper and lower grille surround. Latitude models also have roof rails and 18-inch painted aluminum wheels. Tech connect Package Latitude Cherokee models also get an 8.4-inch infotainment system with 3G connectivity.

Rear backup assist is included along with one touch up and down front windows. Premium audio group is part of the Latitude package and that included a one year Sirius XM radio subscription. Jeep also notes that as of November 1, any 2018 Jeep Cherokee with the Uconnect 8.4-inch infotainment center can download these Alexa skills to their Echo device.

The 2018 Cherokee Latitude with Tech Connect package will hit showrooms in November. The vehicle will have an MSRP of $26,190 for 4x2 and $27,690 for 4x4 models plus destination. That destination charge is $1,095.
