2017 Jaguar F-PACE crossover debuts at Frankfurt Motor Show

Jaguar has introduced its new F-PACE performance crossover, a model the auto maker calls the "ultimate practical sportscar." The car is designed to be a bunch of things, not the least of which is an everyday driver. The crossover was developed with the maker's Lightweight Aluminum Architecture and has an F-TYPE inspired form. Part of the model's practicality is its ample space — drivers have a 650-liter luggage compartment, safety systems for both occupants and pedestrians, and more.

Jaguar has taken the wraps off for the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. The model's body is made 80 percent from aluminum, which joins magnesium parts and composite headlights to shave weight off the vehicle — it weighs 1,665kg and boasts very low CO2 emissions (129 grams per kilometer). Joining this is a supercharged V6 380PS gas engine, and a 0 to 60mph speed of 5.1 seconds. The F-PACE is electronically limited to 155mph.

Jaguar's new crossover features an InControl Touch Pro, which the auto maker says is the most advanced infotainment system available. Joining it is a 10 inch touchscreen. Up to 8 gadgets can be connected to the vehicle's WiFi hotspot for use by passengers.

Jaguar has also introduced Activity Key, a wearable that is waterproof can be be used to unlock the car – this way the keys can be locked inside if you're planning to hike or do something else adventurous.

F-PACE features a complete driver assistance program, says Jaguar, and other safety systems to keep everyone in and around the car safe. There's traction tech and different "levels of grip" to ensure stability in various weather situations. Among those is Adaptive Surface Response.

Other features include full LED headlights, a "muscular bonnet", 22 inch forged wheels, and more.
