Now treat this as purely heresay for the time being, but according to a report filed on Think Secret, Microsoft’s upcoming (and still unconfirmed) Zune media player will be getting some attention from satellite radio networks in addition to the Urge music store bundle.

If this turns out to be true, Apple could be facing a huge uphill battle against Microsoft in terms of music player market share, as anyone who subscribes to satellite radio will instantly look away from Apple’s player and towards Microsoft’s MP3/SR device. While the chances of this happening are slim, in my opinion, the mere fact that Microsoft is considering it should give Apple some chills. Better hurry up with that new iPod, guys; the Zune is looking like it might steal some of your thunder quick.
