No way. We own a Zune HD, Sansa, and Touch 4G. The Zune HD's UI is much more elegant and accurate, blows any of them away when it comes to playing music or video, and Rhapsody or iTunes don't come close to the Zune PC software or Zune Pass ... and the Sansa is by far the worst of the lot. The Touch does have better browsing and more apps, but that the only thing it holds over the Zune HD -- and I can't stand browsing on that tiny screen or playing those cheezy games.

They should just release a 4.5" PMP with a 1GHz processor and expandable storage, running mango.

You get the games from the Zune Marketplace + WP7 continued software support without the added cost of the phone parts.

The whole problem with Microsoft Zunes lies in the software. I should know -- I own three different working versions of Zunes. File transfers, editing, renaming etc. are NOT transparent as they should be.

I recently picked up a couple Sansa players from Woot!, and they work exactly as an mp3 player should. You attach them to your PC (with mini-USB) and they become an additional drive, like a thumb disk or SD card. You drag and drop. That's ALL you need.

The entire Zune universe of value-added content is about as useful as an AOL account in 2011. Worse, like AOL, this interlayer of obfuscation doesn't help anyone learn how to productively use their computers. And I won't even get into the nuisance/annoyance of times when the Zune software fails to install or remove properly ... you have to go through your registry removing hundreds of keys. MS, in its wisdom, has decided not to keep up its clean removal tool. (If you're not comfortable with directly accessing your registry, you can always do a clean OS install, then spend another 4-6 hours updating all the patches since your disk was cut, and perhaps a few days re-installing all your other apps.)
