The Zivio Boom headset is a certainly a nice-looking piece of Bluetooth equipment. However, looks aren’t everything and while in form this one’s great, in function it’s significantly lacking even the basics.

The design is great here. No question about that. But when you use the Zivio Boom, it’s unquestionably lacking in sound quality. It’s simply below the standards you’d expect from a product in this price bracket. The bud attachments do fit nicely in the ear, but they are heavy without anything else to hold them to your head.

The earpiece makes hearing difficult and the ear-clip hands on by a magnet, which makes it pretty much useless. Reception is bad as well, muffling voices. The telescoping microphone feel flimsy and cheap. All in all, not an impressive piece of craftsmanship with serious sound quality and reception issues. This one just proves the old adage, looks can be deceiving, and for $129.95, you should expect something more.
