YouTube Rewind 2015 celebrates the year's top videos

The year's almost over, and that means it is time for YouTube's year in review. YouTube is home to content covering all aspects of the year — trends that arrived, events that took place, viral videos viewed by millions of people. The video service is showcasing all these things and more in a new video featuring 150 of its best known creators.

This year happens to include YouTube's 10th birthday, and so it has taken its #YouTubeRewind video a little further, including recreations of some the most memorable viral video clips from the service's entire history. This is all set to a remix of some of the year's most popular songs and musical artists.

In addition to the annual Rewind video, YouTube has also published a list of the top trending videos from this year, something it determined based on how much time was spent interacting with the videos (liking, watching, commenting, etc). Collectively, the videos clocking more than 25 million hours of viewing and a collective 40 million plus subscribers.

Music in particular had a good year on YouTube. Says the service, "2015 saw some of our fastest-rising videos of all time." Artists included are Adele and Wiz Khalifa, the latter of whom had the top music video with "See You Again" from the Furious 7 Soundtrack.

You can check out all this out and more on YouTube's newly unveiled Trending section.
