Yet Another DVR Technology Changing Hands, DirecTV Buys ReplayTV

ReplayTv lost the living room not too long ago to Tivo, they went 'soft' with PC DVR application hope to turn the business around. That didn't work either. D&M Holdings Inc sold ReplayTV Assets to DirecTV today and that marked another buyout on ReplayTV's technology.

ReplayTV was acquired by SONICblue in 2001, later went bankrupt and sold to D&M Holdings and now ends up with nation's largest satellite provider DirectTV. No financial terms of the deal were disclosed but D&M Holdings will remain the operator of the existing service contracts for current ReplayTV subscribers. DirecTV will assume most of the other assets of the brand company.
