Yamaha YAS-103 sound bar supports Bluetooth streaming and smartphone app control

Yamaha has been making sound bars and other audio products for a number of years. The last audio gear we talked about that wore the Yamaha a brand were the YSP-1400 and YAS-152 sound bars last September. Yamaha is back with another new sound bar called the YAS-103.

The YAS-103 is an update to the YAS-101, which is the best selling soundbar that Yamaha offers. The updates that the TAS-103 features compared to the 101 include Bluetooth audio streaming and the ability to control the sound bar from a smartphone app.

The 103 has a single body design with a built-in subwoofer that offers deep bass without needed a separate subwoofer that the user has to find space for. The sound bar can be controlled using the Yamaha Home Theater Controller app that is available for iOS and Android users. That app allows the user to adjust input selections, surround sound modes, and other settings from their smartphone.

The YAS-103 also features the Yamaha AIR SURROUND XTREME technology and supports Dolby Digital and DTS for virtual 7.1 surround sound. The soundbar has a pair of full range drivers, a pair of down firing subwoofers, and a bass reflex port. The low profile design of the sound bar is meant to be placed under a TV screen and it can be operated using the TV remote. The YAS-103 sound bar will launch this month for $299.95.
