Thanks for your reply, I agree the two cameras don't seem to directly compete one with another. The Y-cam seems very impressive actually. Congratulations on a successful launch. I will have to investigate both cameras further.

Hi Modulok, thanks for the comments and feedback. The release of our camera wasn't intended to compete directly with the Logitech - our camera is a much more professional solution - but I guess bloggers love to compare ;)

As mentioned in the article, our camera uses WiFi, so no trailing cables everywhere (something the Logitech camera skips over in the demo video!). It also has other professional features - such as true day/night vision with a very strong infrared output, as well as Digital I/O for connecting the camera in to Home Security or Automation systems.

The Y-cam has no ongoing charges - notice the Logitech camera charges $79.99 per YEAR for remote access - something the Y-cam provides for free FOREVER - along with free apps to view the Y-cam for iPhone, Android, Symbian and Blackberry.

If you have any further questions about Y-cam please let me know through here or via our social [at] y-cam.com email address, we'd be happy to help.

The point is you are paying $479 for 640x480 instead of $350 for 960x720. If you like to pay more for less then go right ahead.

Don't see the point in a resolution higher than 320x240 if the camera is being viewed on a smart phone since display size is just as small and bandwidth requirements would be higher.
