XStreamHD and EchoStar unveil service agreement

It has been a while since we talked about the XStreamHD service. We say the hardware for the HD satellite service first back in 2008 at CES. XStreamHD is a full 1080p HD satellite provider that offers movies downloaded automatically to a server for the watcher to view.XStreamHD has announced that it and EchoStar have signed a service agreement that will give XStreamHD full coverage of North America using the EchoStar AMC-16 satellite. EchoStar is the company behind DirecTV. I wonder if this means that we will see the tech showing up in DirecTV offerings at some point.

Not only does XStreamHD stream content in full 1080p, but the films are also provided in up to 7.1 channel surround sound. XStreamHD and EchoStar have been working together over the last two years to test the 1080p content service.
