Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro crosses TENAA packing metal chassis

Xiaomi had a smartphone cross TENAA in China back in July that a lot of Xiaomi fans were a bit disappointed in. They were hoping for a fingerprint scanner, but when the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 crossed through to get its certifications it lacked that fingerprint scanner. It now looks like Xiaomi was waiting for the Pro version to throw in that fingerprint reader.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is now at TENAA for certifications and it has been confirmed to have a fingerprint scanner and a metal body. These specs had been rumored before, but they are now confirmed thanks to details and images from TENAA.

On the back of the smartphone, the fingerprint sensor is clearly seen under the camera lens. The screen is a 5.5-inch unit with full HD resolution, the same screen in the normal Note 2. The Pro also has the same MT6795 Helio X10 processor running at 2GHz with 2GB of RAM.

Internal storage is 16GB with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front. Power comes from a 3060mAh internal battery and the smartphone measures 149.98 x 75.98 x 8.75mm and it weighs 165 grams. The operating system is Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. The smartphone is rumored to sell for 1099 yuan, making it equivalent to about $172 in the US.
