Xiaomi Millet TV 2 brings 4K Android to lower-end

Just as quick as the term "4K" was introduced to the world, it would appear that the Chinese company Xiaomi has made the resolution affordable. With the Millet TV 2, the company employs Smart TV features with Android as well as a separate set of audio components. This TV is being delivered for 3999 yuan (approximately $640 USD) this season with a TV, sound bar, and subwoofer to boot).

This television works with a 49-inch display panel made by LG rolling with four times the resolution of previously released 1080p TVs. LG's LCD panel is poised to present high-accuracy color and perfectly wide viewing angles as well.

Inside this television you'll find an MStar quad-core ARM processor clocked at 1.45GHz paired with Mali-450MP4 graphics. Included are Bluetooth connectivity and Wi-fi along 802.11ac for wireless internet and control. The Bluetooth controller that comes with this device works with Bluetooth 4.0 LE, the same as the TV, meaning you'll not be wanting for batteries for many, many moons.

In China the Millet TV ecosystem appears robust. While you'll not be working with Google Play here, USA citizens can expect this sort of functionality in sets in the near future. We'll just have to find a manufacturer that'll knock out their own system before the same sort of set can be sent to the states.

As a bit of a bonus, this television works with a 6.2mm full metal frame while the television is 15.5mm thin. This TV and its speakers work with a variety of colors as well, including red, pink, navy blue, violet, light blue, green, and aqua.
