Xero arrives on iPad, takes small business accounting mobile

Many small businesses are founded out of passion. Whoever starts their business typically has a strong desire to create and share their craft, which makes the back-end business stuff that much worse. Unfortunately, the business aspect is necessary. To help make it easier for anyone, Xero has a handy set of tools that make things like invoicing or receipt creation really simple. After realizing about 30% of their existing users were accessing their Xero tools via an iPad, the company is now coming forward with a proper iPad app.

Xero's iPad app essentially takes their functional web-based tools, and brings them to the iPad, natively. A simplistic redesign makes it much more intuitive for the smaller screen, and users can use either landscape or portrait mode.

Really, it's a natural progression for Xero. With an iPad, users can create digital copies of business receipts even faster, and log info right from the tablet. Managing business contacts is also much simpler.

Tracking invoices is equally efficient with Xero's iPad app, where you can keep track of bank info and match payments to invoices quickly and easily. If you need to create an invoice, that's also available via the app. If you're on a job, or simply using an iPad to conduct business in the office, invoicing is as simple as filling out Xero's included form and forwarding it along. You can even attach pics or other documents, and clients or customers can pay with a few clicks.

Of course, everything syncs as well. You can transition from the iPad to your iPhone, and even onto the desktop with ease. The Xero iPad app is free to download, while Xero costs as little as $9/month to use.
