Xbox One backwards-compatible games list made official

In the old days of console gaming, there wasn't much a worry about backwards-compatibility. You just kept your old machine and games around, and just played that way. These days, consoles don't quite last like they used to, and digital downloads can complicate matters. Starting November 12th, the Xbox One will be backwards-compatible with older Xbox 360 titles. And we've got a list of the first 104 games to be compatible.

Yes, 104 does sound like an incredible number of games, however, you may be disappointed to see that they're not all big name AAA titles. But honestly, that's a good thing. I'm personally happy to see a large selection of Arcade games coming over from the 360. Check out the full list below.

There are some great games on that list, including Borderlands, Assassin's Creed II, and all four of the Gears of War titles. This is only the beginning, of course. Major Nelson has stated that there will be new backwards-compatible titles announced regularly, starting next month.

He was nice enough to tease some of the upcoming titles that we'll see. Specifically, he named Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite and Skate 3. No word on just how soon we'll see any of them, however.
