Wake up. When a user says they never logged into their account except on the Xbox itself and have never opened any strange emails dealing with Xbox, who are you going to believe? The user who believes their info is safe or a company who has a history of dirty business dealing?

That’s bullshit!!!! I am a security professional and very less likely to fall for the security exploit. a few people having this problem is one thing, and larger number at the same time proves something else it’s just like Microsoft to blame everything and everyone else. That way they cover up their incompentence and stupidity.

My xbox account was hacked the other day and i fell victim to FIFA scammers. It seems to be a downplayed problem and we can only get support through numbers and organizing a common voice. It is not phishing. Think about it, how many people had accounts stolen to buy fifa stuff? why if you search for ps3 fifa hack you get no results like this on? Phishing doesn’t target only 1 company when money is to be made.

My son’s account was hacked and MS refused to help when they found he hadn’t used his real name on his linked Hotmail account for security reasons.Fortunately his bank were a lot more helpful. The results is disgusted customer who is making it known to people what happened and probably leaving a large number of people with the impression XBOX Liver is best avoided. MS it appears have a lot to learn over customer service.

Their claim is totally false 100% .My Live account was hacked over 2 months ago they drained my bank account and also moved my account to Hungary and of course Microsoft is taking no responsibility for this .I have called weekly talked to Kiesah,MaryKay,Renee,Sherlynn,Randy,Jeremy and every time I hear the same story they have to follow regulations in other country to try and retrieve my account we’ll they didn’t provide anything .Also I believe it was a inside hacking as they can see exactly what was purchased and where it was purchased from by the IP address.
This is not acceptable to me at all .

I find Microsoft claim against this to be untrue. Considering the fact the Windows is hacked everyday, it’s not surprising that Xbox live wuld be hacked.

Welcome to the digital world. A good preemptive technique is to use prepaid debit cards for reoccurring transactions. Yes it can be a pain in the butt to remember to keep that card in the black, but if it does get compromised you’ll only loose that small amount of money and would not have to open fraud cases nor spend hours upon hours with your financial institution.

Our household’s account was hacked, and it was not a phishing attack. We don’t log into Xbox live, or click on emails claiming to be from xbox live, etc. They were clearly compromised in some way and it is annoying that they won’t just admit it.
Their ‘prompt response’ means locking your account for 30 days while they ‘investigate’ what is clearly a hack of a user’s account.

Was hacked for $240, never used any sites that required my Live id so malware is doubtful, same thing happened to 2 other friends from different cities. The only good thing that happened in all this is that Xbox customer service is one of the best ive ever had to deal with.

My account was also hacked two times. First with transactions labeled Xbox Live and another set recently with Zune Net. Never entered login info through any third-party site. Payment info was stored on their side so I’m guessing they were hacked as they made purchases with the cards on file with Xbox Live.

Was hacked to the tune of $120 bucks for some loser who bought points to put towards Sims 3. Never logged in to any 3rd party, just signed in to Live while playing a few games, the usual. Call microsoft and file a claim. Only took ten minutes, never transferred. Then go talk to your bank. It is likely your card number has been compromised. Be careful whenever you keep a cc# on file with any website. Sounds like a wide spread problem.

There is no way the integrity of the servers was compromised, you must have given your information out to a cleverly disguised (to idiots) phishing website, or one if your “bros” stole your login data.

My account was hacked, I never opened any “goto to xbox live account” e-mail or ever logged on with my xbox live other then on the xbox unit itself until I was hacked. And over 30 days since I notified them and they still haven’t given me back my account with all the live purchases I’ve made throughout the years.
