Word on the streets is that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is getting some new hardware manufacturers. These are coming in the form of Asus subsidiaries Pegatron and Unihan.

Reportedly the deal would be for 500k consoles per month. The former OEM, Wistron, is rumored to be dropping the console’s production because the margins have gotten too low.

Also, Microsoft blamed the PS3 sales surpassing the Xbox 360 in February on lack of supply, so that could have also fueled the change in OEM. Who knows, maybe with these two new OEMs we might see that RRoD rate drop a bit.
