I can’t remember the last time we’ve heard this much news about the Xbox 360. Usually we’re hearing rumors of PS3 price cuts and low-end models being killed off. Finally we get something other than overheating and Red Ring of Death stories . Now we’ve got rumors of price cuts for the 360, and even that the low-end Core System may be getting the boot.

The rumor that the Core System could be getting discontinued stemmed from a bad picture of a piece of paper. So naturally that wasn’t the most reliable source, and Microsoft has stepped up and formally announced that the Core System is not going anywhere.

I’m not really surprised to hear that this rumor has been debunked. After all, it was just a blurry picture of a piece of paper.
