Wouldn’t this make things harder for developers?
They’d have quite a handful in optimizing applications for the 3GS (almost at the doors of the ‘end of life’ cycle), 4/4S, iPad 1/2 and iPad 3rd generation, besides the rumoured 4″ iPhone 5 (that’s 5 resolutions in all, unless iPhone 5 has the same pixel count and aspect ratio as that of the 4/4S, but that would, in turn, lower the ppi count).
This, I reckon, would create a new ‘resolution’ fragmentation.

Ya, this doesn’t see right. All apps are coded for one of two aspect ratios, and this is neither of them. That’s the grave apple has dug for itself is that its advantage in software is somewhat reliant in static hardware. By grave I mean apple will sell tons no matter what of course.

Apple is a spit and swallow type.
Apple before: the Optimum size is 3.5″ and bigger than that is useless for a phone.
Apple now: 4″ is the optimum size. All androids devices that has bigger screen than this is stupid.
Apple in future: 4.5-5.0″ is the size for a smartphone should be. Lol.

Common man. Stop the spitting and swallowing afterward. It is discusting.

So basically, Apple is saying Android has been right all this time. Larger screen and wide screen aspect. What are all the iPhone die hards going to say. Are they going to admit that Android was right. I bet not. PS. Too bad Steve, you were wrong all along but the new management will fix your mistakes. Tee hee. Rolling in your grave mate.
