Wishbone contactless thermometer can check body temp and more

Any parent will tell you that having a sick baby is a tiring experience. Sick infants cry all the time since they can't talk to tell you what hurts leaving parents constantly monitoring their temperature. When a baby is fussy, the last thing a parent wants to do is use a rectal thermometer, but that is often what you have to do to get accurate readings.

A new product has turned up on Kickstarter called Wishbone that is an interesting device. Wishbone is a contactless thermometer that can be used to take body temperature, room temperature, and the temperature of other objects like drinks. You can finally tell if the formula is the right temp without squirting it on your arm.

The Wishbone device connects to a smartphone and works in conjunction with an app. It plugs directly into the headphone jack on Android and iPhone devices. Wishbone is powered by small lithium batteries that sit inside the device, opposite the sensor.

The app that works with Wishbone can track temperature over time to give you records to share with your doctor. It is able to keep records for multiple people. The project is on Kickstarter seeking $20,000 and so far has raised over $50,000 with 28 days to go. A pledge of $33 or more will get you the Wishbone and app with shipping in April 2015.
