Wired News gets a robot lap-dance

NoYes

I’m not sure what’s more disturbing about this Wired News article – that Tim Hornyak took 24+ hours to build a robot (in this case the Manoi AT01) that apparently is suitable for a 14 year old child (Tim, you’re not 9 are you?) or that he then proceeded to dress it up and make it dance for him.  Twisted robot perversions aside, it’s interesting to see how the attitude to home robots changes once they go from being a collection of sprockets to something with a recognisable face.  I’d get one myself, only the little fella costs $1,200.  I suppose I’d save money in the long run from not paying all those private dancers, though.
