As a WPF/Silverlight developer, I've been watching the Silverlight/HTML5 thing very closely. Truthfully, it kind of makes sense here, though. Accessing SkyDrive is something you do over the web. Tablets - like iPad and all of the Android flavors probably aren't going to allow Silverlight any time soon. So if you want the service to be accessible from the devices that are fast becoming THE portable standard, you kind of have to go with a technology that they will run.
