Windows Phone Enterprise Features Ramp Up

That upcoming Mango update for your Windows Phone device will be bringing a whole host of new features that will improve productivity at the enterprise level. Microsoft is hosting its annual TechEd conference in Atlanta starting today that will reveal in much greater detail what capabilities to expect. But, here's a preview of the new changes highlighted during the first keynote.

The Mango update focuses on productivity and makes connecting and sharing documents easy right out of the box. With Mango, Microsoft's Office Hub can not only bring together Office documents in one place, but also save and share them through Office 365 and Windows Live SkyDrive, so that you can access them from anywhere at anytime. Other new features include:

Pinnable email folders will allow you to pin a folder to your start screen so that you can quickly access it, such as with a specific project folder or even an RSS feed setup in Outlook.Conversation view in emails lets you view threaded emails, something other platforms already enjoy.Server search, lets you search your email server to access older emails that no longer reside on your phone.Lync Mobile will become a free app on the Windows Phone Marketplace that will work like a group communication tool that delivers instant messaging as well as the ability to see the presence of your co-workers.

Not only will Mango improve productivity, it will also enhance security with complex password support, Information Rights Management support for protecting emails and Office documents, and support access to hidden corporate WiFi networks.
