Yes, undoubtedly. They aren’t going to let the closest thing they have to a flagship phone go without an update, particularly given their stance on them (carriers can’t block over-the-air updates for more than a couple months, can’t block users from updating them with their computers at all).

I have one of the first released phones (Samsung Focus) and I would be shocked if it didn’t get updated all the way through Windows Phone 8.

It’s hard to say as there isn’t much of a track record to go off of, but it looks more promising than not.

Hopefully this means that in the US we’ll start seeing some Windows Phones become available on prepaid carriers like Virgin Mobile. I’m getting sick of Android phones with all the unremovable bloatware and fragmentation preventing me from running a lot of apps on the marketplace.

I’m a bit of a phone noobie. I’ve got an iPhone 4 now and am looking into the Nokia Lumia 900 when it’s released. Will it get these updates or will it run on WP 7?
