Aside from being busy with Vista, Microsoft is working on its latest Windows Mobile operating system called Windows Mobile Crossbow. Microsoft plans to Release Crossbow to manufacturing (RTM) by the end of this year and hopefully go into public release on the first half of next year. Under Crossbow’s hood there will still be Windows CE 5.x however it will have updated user interface and new eye candy. Crossbow offers better integration with Office 2007 and Office Communicator. According to Windows Mobile roadmap, Windows CE 6.0 based OS will be released on first half of 2008 and will be named Windows Mobile Photon.
