Wow, you know what? Windows 8 deserves to get infected that easily. That is the most confusing-looking, messiest, unappealing operating system I have ever seen for a computer. It’s like it can’t decide whether it wants to act like Windows 7, or some kind of crappy tablet device. This is another perfect example why I switched to Linux. Even Ubuntu, with its negative feedback because of Unity, is better than this. (And for the record, I actually like Unity a lot).

I agree, Aero looked better than Metro with the transparencies.

I disagree. I’m using a custom UI on Windows 7 that has a similar aesthetic. The minimalist look is great. I hope they take it further.

It almost seems as if the metro look on this is going back in time. Those frames and taskbar / start button look hideous compared to windows 7

After having installed the Windows 8 Developer Preview on an old 7″ Fujitsu tablet my sister had laying around, I’ll tell you the same thing I told my clearly unimpressed father: the UI is still unfinished and meant only for developers. Please save your judgments for the inevitable publicly available release candidate!

Well, even if it does have security flaws, it certainly looks disjointed!

So a Windows 7 style desktop, metro style start and control panels, back to a Windows 7 style control panel… Not impressed :(
