Having production value doesn’t equal artificial, and not using a microphone doesn’t equal relaxed. It equals sloppy and lazy. Not everything has to look like a parody of ‘Sprockets’, but it wouldn’t kill Microsoft to pretend like they cared about image sometimes.

They are not just artificial, they border on fantasy. Apple
tries to make their products seem magical. Unfortunately there are a lot of
simpletons that are easily fooled in to thinking that an over-priced
mass-produced gadget is a necessity in order to enjoy life. So they max out
their credit cards and surround themselves with stuff… only to find that the
next (slightly improved) version is coming out soon, and now they need to buy
it as well. So they stand in line like mindless sheep for hours on-end so they
can buy more media consumption devices and spend more and more money… it’s
really quite sad…

What does data in the ‘Cloud’ have to do with a desktop OS. What are you supposed to do with that data once it’s there? You still need some sort of device (Computer/tablet) to edit and display the content. Sorry but your comment makes no sense…

This video was done as an impromptu preview… it’s in a relaxed
office setting and it definitely gets the point across. If you even bothered to
notice this was shot in HD 1080p. How many phones can shoot in 1080p? And if you call Apple’s over-produced commercials with their signature droning Tinkertoy sound track slick, then you definitely have been drinking too much of the Kool-Aid…

Everything is just a pc with a silly interface. It is a more tablet friendly interface on top of the reliable, expanding functionality of windows 7

If anything, MS’s videos are artificial : I disagree with the OP in that MS will have _exactly_ the same kit pointed at the host as Apple, but they _choose_ to make it look as if it’s off the cuff.

Apple are at lease honest about their superficiality.

simply put… this is going nowhere. At the end of the day, it all boils down to whether or not people are going to embrace the cloud as their data storage system. If they do, then this is completely obsolete. There will no need for all that fanciness.

“Feel like half of it is being stolen”? What do you mean “feel like”? Windows Phone 7 was pretty darn innovative. This is just those same thought processes applied to their desktop OS’s UI.

If you want to make a reference to a specific product or mock-up made by another company, by all means refer to it. But don’t say “feel like”.

Why is it Microsoft cannot attach a microphone to their host when they do one of these cheeseball videos? It actually is a perfect example of the contrast between Apple & Microsoft. Apple’s videos are perfect. Slick. Produced. Microsoft gets the information out, but it’s just a guy who had a cameraphone and some time to spare to get the information out.

I don’t like swiping for multitasking, what if I have 20 apps open, will I have to swipe 20 times to get to the app I want? There should be like a gallery view for running apps.

Also I hope you can place that Start Bar on the left hand side(and multitasking on the right naturally) for lefties.
