I actually like the wavy windows, it’s more iconic. It kind of represents windows better as well. The new logo looks like it could be a regular window. While the 4 colors were nice it isn’t necessary. The flat new logo however does not work at all. On top of that the font isn’t great either. Back to the drawing board.

It would have looked like Metro if they had put the words on the windows panes. It IS odd to see it as monochromatic and straight and while I usually like monochromatic and simple, it’s off-putting.

The logo IS reminiscent of a tablet, so that’s a positive. And I hope they re-do xbox, it’s too 90s.

you read the part that said “The blue color isn’t fixed, either; if you change your
preferences in Windows 8, the logo – in software, at least, not the one
silk-screened onto your laptop or tablet – changes color too.” you are right about the colors, but this
color is not an official color!!!!

SOOO glad to get rid of the frickin rainbow flag. That never made any sense. They throwback look to the original Windows logo is really cool. What was revolutionary is now all over again!

Not that the logo is going to make or break the new OS, but I for one think that’s seriously ugly. Doesn’t catch the eye. Along with most shades of red, light blue and neon blue are some of the hardest colors for the human eye to distinguish hard lines with.

Personally I think Vista was the strongest logo.
