This is awesome. The prototype seems a bit fat and I wonder if they want it to be sold as cheap as LiveView, meaning around $49? I think I would like it to be purpose built to just be a wrist watch, it's important for a wrist watch to be as slim, as light, as compact as possible, it should not feel any different than a slim Swatch wrist watch. This is also cool for a 7" tablet that you can keep in your jacket pocket while checking notification messages and other on your wrist watch to decide if you need to take out the tablet or keep it in the jacket pocket. Add a clip-on headphones and microphone to your shirt or jacket and you've got a fully wearable computer system.

Agreed. I have a LiveView and it's kind of ... it works well but it's just a bit barren. I'm loving the screen on this bad boy.

I wonder why they don't just release these things to the general public? This devs-only business is cool but anyone should be able to buy one -- why turn down some extra revenue from early adopters?

The straps are stunning! I'd buy it just to have its basic features.

Then again, maybe it's because too many early-adopters go to tech blogs and complain about the lack of features and apps ... I guess that's the other side of the coin.

No NFC antenna? I think this would make a interesting payment dongle platform...

Also, the screen tech seems similar to the Pixel Qi screens. And it seems to go head to head with the Sony Ericsson Liveview, tho with more smarts on the wrist.
