Nintendo Wii

In a revelation that seems almost too good to be true, it would appear that Nintendo might be priming the upcoming Wii console to launch a good month or two ahead of schedule, beating the Sony PS3 to the market by a couple of months. According to CNNMoney.com, Nintendo is already producing final versions of the new console, while Sony has yet to begin making the retail versions of the PS3. For comparison’s sake, the Xbox 360 was in production for only 69 days before it debuted, meaning that should Nintendo opt to travel the same path, the Wii could launch as early as September. Such a move is sure to have gamers (like me) salivating, and it sure to throw a wrench into Sony’s plans, since both competitors would have their machines out before them. No official word yet from Nintendo, but we’re sure that there will be soon. In the meantime, cross your fingers.
