Coming from Vibe Magazine, this might not be the most reliable information in the world, but since it’s the second time we’ve heard that the Wii might retail for under $200, it’s worth mentioning. Apparently, according to Vibe, Nintendo’s next-generation console with the weird/innovative/painful-looking controller will retail for $150. That having been said, Vibe had to explain to its readers on how to pronounce Nintendo’s oddly-named console, so I wouldn’t bank too much on this being accurate.

Then again, EA executive Daivd Gardner also said that he had heard that the Wii would retail in Japan for around $170, and it stands to reason that the US price might be the same or slightly lower (we’re such picky buyers, after all).
So is it possible that Vibe knows something that the rest of the gaming community is either ignorant of or is sworn to secrecy about? We’ll need to wait for Nintendo to let us know…preferably sooner rather than later guys.
