I have all three systems. My kids play games on all three systems. The Wii technology is dated and the newer Kinect and Move systems are newer and more accurate… Wow you mean newer technology is better than old technology.

Each console serves a purpose, entertainment. If you aren’t entertained by it then don’t use it.

That being said, I’m so mad that I have a Wii and none of the other next gen consoles because I’ve missed out on so many great games from PS3 and Xbox. At this point I may as well wait until the new systems come out though. Can’t be too long.

Soon after it came out we literally bought and sold the Wii 4 times in one year. Just kept getting tired of it, selling it, then wanting it back for some reason (maybe out of guilt, or hope that good games would come to it, or when a new Mario or other decent game was due out).

At this point I give up and just accept that it’s really only meant for the drunken Wii bowling nights with friends.

I could list them and give you why they felt like reworks, but anyone who has played Nintendo games since the days of the NES will know.

Anyway the Wii was brought as a family present, but unlike being the life of the party it was more like the woolly jumper from the aunt. It sat gathering dust until I decided to sell it and purchase some fishing gear, which unlike the Wii seems to have lasted its course and been used much more.

The last game which kept me playing on the Wii was ironically Super Mario Bros (the original) on its build in emulator.

In short the Wii was a over hyped fade

I have an Xbox 360 already and I play it a thousand times more often then I do my Wii.

I’m 20 so don’t tell me to grow up. No I’m not mentally impaired. Yes I have a job.

And as a last thought, if Wii is such a piece of crap why are Sony and Microsoft copying it? And I don’t mean they gave their systems motion controls. I mean they are giving their systems motion controls, advertising them as being “family fun”, and loading them with craploads of shit games. Either Wii isn’t as bad as you said or Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are just as crappy.

Of course, if you’re a huge Mario, Zelda, Samus, DK or Kirby fan, then the Wii still does it’s job fine – it’s (like the author says) a valid entertainment option. I just find that, personally, it’s limited relative to what the PS3 offers.

If Nintendo would put an alarm clock feature in the Wii, that might make people use it more.

And that’s fine, because the majority of Nintendo fans have the mind of a 4 year old anyway. So it all works out in the end.

You go have fun now with all those retro games with the 4 buttons. They were fun because that was all anyone knew back then. If you wish to live in the past, that is your choice and I respect that. But claiming time was better than today in gaming or tomorrow is patently incorrect. You sound like Dana Carvey on SNL doing his elderly skit saying “… back in my day, we didn’t have no ….” Though, as a Nintendo fan, it is unlikely you are allowed to stay up late enough to watch SNL.

Folks, face it. The Wii IS a toy and WAS a fad. The Pet Rock effect is starting to wear off now and people are stuck with a toy that barely has an online experience, has horrible 480i graphics (out of the box) and endless shovelware for games. Games like Super Baby Mama, Rachel Ray’s Cookoff and Happy Donkey Checkerz, seriously?

Amazing how nearly all Wii games go from the $49.99 entry point to the $3.00 bargain bin in one month. That should tell you something.

Enough. The RRoD thing is so old now. Stop clinging to that merely because you have nothing other to say. The 360 is outselling the PS3 and Wii now.

At 17, you are still a child in the eyes of the law. Incapable of making your own decisions, other than to take drugs, drink and fail out of school. Which your generation does far too much of. But once you hit 18, you are legally an adult. At which point, you can then make the decision to purchase a mature, adult and modern console. PS3 or 360, doesn’t really matter. And then you can box up the toy (Wii), take your thumb out of your mouth, throw away your “blanky” and join adult gamers on the PS3/360 online communities.

I am not sure why you are on this site either. It requires some level of reading ability, thinking and then some writing skills. Nintendo fans usually possess none of these qualities. They instead gravitate to sites with flashy colors and Mario 8-bit icons. “Oh, Mario Uber Duper Galaxy 17 is out next week!” Wow. Who cares. That stuff was fun when you were 5 years old. 12 years later, your parents need to have an intervention and ween you from the Mario nipple. That potty training should have taken place years ago, to be honest.

1. Make a console today using technology from yesterday.
2. Add a gimmicky control scheme that uses canned animations to simulate 3d controls.
3. Open up the floodgates of “Shovelware” (i.e. endless crap games).
4. Churn out endless Mario and Donkey Kong games.

Nintendo dug their own grave, and now they are slowly lying down in it as the industry starts shoveling the dirt on top of them. Time for Nintendo to bow out and join SEGA as purely a game making company.

Leave the console making and 1st person studio productions to the big boys. Microsoft and Sony are the only two left who deserve to be making consoles and providing enjoyment to the next generation of gamers.

I have some advice for all gamers out there. Get over yourselves and your perceived notions of “mature” games, because the Wii has a solid game library that can go toe to toe with the HD consoles. Just because the Wii can’t push Black Ops, Halo, etc. to your liking doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its own great games. Nintendo has always been about classic games and classic gameplay.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to pick up Donkey Kong Country Returns ;)

The argument by some tard above me in the comments about how the Wii has sold so many consoles is absurd. The Pet Rock sold millions too. Until everyone realized that it was a fad and a hoax.

Go buy a PS3 or an XBOX 360. You can still redeem yourself…..there is still time.
