I'm curious, isn't there some sort of technology out there that enables one to watch a 3D movie using glasses like these 3D glasses but without the TV? Then it would all be in the glasses and would be everything you see. Looking at a 3D TV through glasses just seems stupid to me, take the TV out of the equation and put it in the glasses, that would be awesome! When I looked through the glasses to see the 3D TV at best buy, well, I could still see around the TV and it was cool to see the 3D action in the TV, but seeing around it was odd right away. It's something we'd get desensatized to, but there's obviously a better solution, get rid of the TV and put it in the glasses! To resolve this though I assume it would be best to watch a 3D TV in a dark room, like pitch black, so you only see the TV, that would be awesome, but unless you have a gigantic TV it still would be better to just have it all in the glasses... So I ask, is there such a product?

You're may have to have to wait a long time for that feature.

You could certainly do it for computer generated animation, or video by but capturing the light field. This would mean the data stream would be much greater that what it presently is for 1080p.

But it's possible. Check out: http://www.refocusimaging.com/

I'm not in any way connected to this technology, but I feel Slashgear should advocate and champion the acceptance of this technology in consumer digital photography, eventually pushing it to video.

It's just really incredible stuff, and opens up endless artistic possibilities.

I know I'd buy a camera featuring this in a heartbeat.
