I always end up going back to my pc. The tech for the pc is obviously always upgradeable while games for consoles have to be limited. The only advantage for a console is you dont have to spend money upgrading for a while, but I save money on digital copies anyways. I find the pc community better connected and involved with each others also. I know this article is about consoles but I think PC should be mentioned :D .

There are quiet a few rumors on the development of the “second generation” of consoles. Game consoles used to follow a five-year gap. So 2011/2011 was supposed to be the next point in the pattern. It seems as if x-box pulled a “Kinect” to compensate. Rumors say “Wii 2″ (nickname for the future Wii innovation) is under development, PS4 (don’t get me started on the rumors I’ve heard on this) is being considered, and that the “x-box 720″ is basically the x-box 360 going under future hardware modifications. Again, I’ll have to confirm these rumors. For the meantime, someone should start a universal list of suggestions that is open for editing. Maybe a Wikipedia page. We can submit the URL to Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo for review. That’d be interesting.

Why I do:
PS3 gives me vastly more freedom
I can use standard HDMI cables, PC power cables, USB cables to charge controllers, bluetooth headsets, SATA harddrives. I have the freedom to copy my save data to any USB drive or flash card. PS3′s UI is vastly more intuitive and user friendly. PS3s controller battery actually lasted me longer than a year unlike 360s. With PS3, online multiplayer is free, so I don’t get half a game like if I were to buy it for 360. My 360 came with 20 GB, and only 13 of it was usable. My PS3 came with 60 GB and 55 was usable. And for less than $100 I upgraded to 500 GB.

I watch blu rays and Netflix mostly on my ps3. Xbox live is unquestionably the best online. Mario is my favorite of all time. Put them all together and that would get my vote for best console.

It’s pretty clear that Sony Playstation 3 is a more powerful piece of hardware than the 360. Most of the games nominated for Best Graphics at Spike VGA 2010 were from PS3 including Heavy Rain and God of War 3. And the winner was God of War 3. Games like God of War 3, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, Killzone 2 really show the power and potential of PS3.
First Party Developers state that these games would not be possible on the Xbox 360. A reason for this is the Powerful Cell Processor in PS3, and the use of Blu Ray.

PS3 is technically (hardware) the winner but that’s not the whole story. What the devs can squeeze out graphically and processing is greater/easier on the 360. That said, I own a PS3 and Wii and had a 360 but got rid of it since all the games I wanted were available on the PS3 as well and I preferred the Bluray playback over a better controller. I like em all for different reasons.

I have all of them including the Kinect and Move. XBox is all I play. Everything is better to me. Move isn’t as fun as looking like an ass with the Kinect even though the Move is more accurate which is kind of obvious since it tracks a glowing ball. I have played PS3 only games and enjoyed them but when I was done with them I felt like there wasn’t any reason to play it again. With the XBox, you want to play it again to get as many of the achievements you can. The whole trophy thing does nothing for me. I will continue to play PS3 only games but if I can play them on the XBox I will. Its not a matter of who’s system is “King” its what they do next.

The PS3 has the following exclusives coming out next year : Killzone 3, Little Big Planet 2, Resistance 3, Infamous 2, Twisted Metal, DC Universe Online and Uncharted 3. Also three of Xbox 360 Exclusive Developers are developing games for PS3. These include Bioware , Valve, and Bungie (has 10 year deal with Activision). The only exclusives that are coming out on Xbox 360 next year are Gears of War 3 and Codename: Kingdoms (game from Crytek).
