How can you patent a color on a cell phone? Almost sounds ridiculous. Why wouldn’t Ford just patent black and Cadillac white…see what I mean?

If we see Apple file suit for copyright or patent infringement by Moto for the color, we’ll know that the folks running the patent office really did lose their minds.

Good to see that instead of yet another new Motorola handset, Moto and VZW are thinking of those who will appreciate a white casing in the RAZR. Still waiting for the Galaxy Nexus release though…

Hey, I just thought of something, it may be a bad idea to have a white case around the RAZR. Every working RAZR demo unit I’ve seen in VZW stores have a bluish tinge to the screen. With a white case, the blue tint will pop out even more. Whoops. It’s the main reason I’m passing on this version of the RAZR. If I’m going to pony up a lot more money (percentage-wise) for a handset, the screen better have pure white where it should be white and be pitch black when it’s supposed to be. All of the other RAZR specs are fantastic. If it wasn’t for the screen, I would have picked on up last month. Someone wake me up when the Nexus arrives… in black please.

Didn’t Apple patent white?

And PS – the normal RAZR is grey, not black.
