NO! Manufactures control updates. Its samsungs fault that you dont have an update. get a nexus if you want updates so soon.

No, Andre is wrong. Its not Google. Its the manufacture. Samsung controls when the update goes to the phone. Google has nothing to do with it.

I hope you know its not google. Samsung controls the updates for its samsung phones. HTC controls the updates for its phones. Then the carriers decide when they push the update to the phones. Google phones, such as the Nexus, updates are controlled by google. and thats why Nexus phones always get updates right away, unless the carrier steps in like the Gnexus. You obviously don’t know how this stuff works. Google is not in control of when the manufacture wants to update their phones. Google only controls the Nexus devices, and with the Nexus 4 carriers wont get in the way.

Major no. Nexus line are updated incrementally. My Galaxy Nexus is on 4.2 before reviews came out. Non Nexus phones will have custom manufacture additions that Google cannot control. Open Source idea. I’m shocked how little people understand about this stuff. Next you’ll post WM8 is the best OS!

Agree with Andre….!!

I love he Google features …that are outstanding…!!

But on Peaceful Earth on God they collect things and make release once a year at least…rather customer buy a flagship device with outdated OS right out of box and will wait o get updates. Once customer is just getting use to have fun with those features and Google shows more beautiful features/update to make a customer feel his device as dumb hardware.

Since Android has proved itself in market and got loyal customer, this is right time that all Android Manufacturers (along with carriers) and Google should do couple of things:
1. make a updates available right within a month.

2. work enough time put all juices and love in android…bring it a mature level along with manufacturers and carriers then release. Rather updating frequently and lagging some user who stilling waiting for previous updates and Google show up with More New Updates.

:) Are you nuts ? … most android devices get their updates depends on the hardware on witch they run , i had galaxy S1/2 and now s3 … on s1/s2 updates are passed and even with custom rom i can run 4.1 on s1 s2 is with 4.x by stock …. i think you are apple lover :) and because of that you are talking that way :)

Most Android phones are not going to be upgraded. That’s how Google and their team keep selling so many phones. The faithful Android fans will keep buying to get each incremental update as that’s the only way. Quite the scam Google has going. I’m amazed someone hasn’t started a class-action lawsuit against them for such a blatant example of planned obsolescence. I guess Android users are too sheep-like to think that way.

how about voice improvements, like when i say call this person, it actually calls this person

and

maybe a unified messaging

and

better headphone mic support

great improvements, but some simple things would have been nice
