That’s completely false. I work in IT at JB HiFi and we sell more Apple TV’s than we do Macbooks. They are highly sort after and I can’t remember a day where we haven’t sold one.

I do however believe that the iPhone 5 launch and iOS 6 is more important.

Want apps on your TV? Apple TV already does this: through AirPlay. Get an Apple device to display them.

AirPlay is probably a lot less R&D for a greater effect. This has you buying the box and needing an Apple device or two- good move I think.

PS3 does a fantastic job for media, too. I love having my entire collection available whenever I want it. HD movies and TV shows ftw.

on the vizio site mine shows shipped, but no tracking number yet via email. if you got the first batch of preorders on July 24th they supposedly started shipping yesterday.

Whatever happened to that New Apple TV?
Well, Google released the Nexus 7, so Apple’s marketing department had to put the TV on hold and create up iPad Mini rumors instead.
