What’s up with all of the secrecy over at Crytek these days? First, they announce that there will be no 1.3 patch to the game, which obviously set some people into panic mode. Now they’ve casually dropped this image upon us.

Crysis Warhead

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that my original guess is correct, that they are just skipping any further 1.x patches and moving straight into 2.0. What exactly is all of this Warhead that we’re seeing? I’d guess an expansion pack.

So the bottom line is that you’re likely going to have to drop some extra cash on this expansion if you want any further updates. Then again, if you’re a fan of the game, you’ll probably pick it up anyway.

I would like to see a ps3 or xbox 360 version of this game

First of all, this will not be an expansion; it will be a totally new game. That’s kind of self-explanatory from your statement of no more 1.*** patches and going right to 2.0. That means it’s a new engine, so a totally new game, NOT an expansion on the original engine.

It’s going to follow the same storyline as Nomad experienced in Crysis, but you’re going to play as Psycho. The new engine will really be the Crytek engine with advanced lighting and physics effects, and the system requirements have been dropped a bit.

Some new vehicles, weapons, and the suit’s abilities will be explored more.
