I have the 360 and PS3, and I'd have to say the XBOX should be the undisputed winner. The only thing the PS3 offers that the 360 doesn't is the blue-ray player.

Xbox Live is reason enough alone. Add in Kinect, Windows Media Center, Zune (with the pass), and the gameplay (just to point out where else the PS3 falls short.) Undisputed.

Throw in Xbox Live on my WP7 and you have the icing on a very sweet cake.

I agree. When I over my cousin's house playin Black Ops on PS3, the connection was always laggy or disconnecting, and my fingers constantly slipped off the joystick whenever I tried to knife or sprint. Xbox has the online gaming experience you want as an hardcore gamer, while PS3 simply has all the entertainment in one.

Heh heh... this is true. I was young when I first played the 2600... My dad's friend had one of those old bigscreen tv's that were a HUGE box, and he brought a 2600 out when I came over to visit.

No graphical eye candy will ever match that first enthralling experience of your first console game, and being so small at the time, and playing on a bigscreen, the pong bars seemed half as big as me. From my youthful perspective, it'd be like playing on an IMAX screen now.

"In the end, I decided that the Xbox 360 was the game console I couldn’t live without. See, the thing I like most about the PlayStation 3 is that it offers all my entertainment in a single spot. But I have another Blu-ray player, and Netflix streaming can be done from the Xbox 360 and my HDTV. In the end, the PlayStation 3 simlpy doesn’t offer anything I can’t find elsewhere."

I dunno... I'd use this statement as an argument for the PS3. If I could keep only 1 device, the PS3 would serve all those functions, and the Xbox wouldn't. I don't actually own an xbox though, while I do own a PS3, so maybe I just haven't caught the magic yet. I might be biased to the one I'm used to. I'm not really fussed about the blue-ray player though... so that would technically be an argument in favor of Xbox. I'd add though, that I prefer the controller on the Ps3, and I also prefer not having to pay to play online. Those are factors as well.

Take, your comment, swap where you say Xbox360 and Ps3 around, and you have my comment.

The multi-plat games are always superior on the 360, the 360 controller in sooo much better, and fits the hand perfectly, and the ps3 menu system is stuck in the back. Not to mention the the PSN is Xbox Live's bitch. No Gears of War of the PS3 either. Need I say more.

The one and only + point the PS3 has over the 360 which I will conceed to, is that it has the Ratchet and Clank series, and a couple of decent JRPG's the the 360 doesn't have

Nothing--NOTHING--has ever compared to my Atari 2600. Which still works, by the way (take that, 360!), although I usually run an emulator when I'm feeling nostalgic. Make fun of the graphics all you want, but those were days of unrivaled creativity. Most games today are just variations on a few very tired themes, compensating for a lack of depth and game play with flashy visuals. The only titles that have ever come close to equaling the Atari's hold on my imagination are Star Wars Battlefront and GTA 2 and 3.

I will say my PS3. I like it because of the looks, the menu setup, I am used to the controller feel, Plus much more. I can care less for the online stuff since I rarely have ever used the PSN or PSN home stuff so I will keep my PS3 for sure.

As for Xbox360, It sucks. The menus are dorky, the games I like are available on the PS3 and better on the PS3. The online thing I never used and except once and it was junk. I don't really have any problem with the controllers but oh well, PS3 still #1.

The Nintendo Wii, A total kids kind of system and alot of the games are childish so even though I never owned 1, I will never buy it.

My SNES...

No seriously though, I still prefer the Dual Shock to the Xbox controller. Personal preference I guess. I don't understand not having the analog sticks next to each other. Whatever. That being said, I think the Xbox has a far superior online gaming experience. Cross game chat, etc. Kinect, no thanks. I'd take PS Move and it's use in FPS games any day (no, not that stupid gun thing, just the move controller). Wii got it right with the Conduit and it's sequel, but the Wii isnt my thing overall.
20GB is fine maybe 6 years ago when all the videos are in SD quality and good luck trying to find a 20gb harddrive in 2011. Now a days all of my videos are store in terabyte NAS drives.
Um Gears of war, Forza?? What about those exclusives? Halo odst and reach arn't out on PC yet either, nor are they announce yet. Sure the kids may like the move, kinect, wii controllers but for gamers, who the hell would use them?

For me it's XBOX and PC. Whenever I use my ps3, the network always fails, I always get disconnected from COD games, I don't like any of the exclusives except drakes, oh and the controller feels like a brick after using xbox, doesn't seem natural at all.
Kinect is actually very cool, if you have ever used it. It is proven as it was the most sold gadget in the world. Move is great but I would not use it, or the kinect.

My PS3 has broken 3 times, my xbox has broken once. My friends PS3's have also died more than once. You're obvisously a hater so I can't sway your view, I converted to XBOX after I bought PS3 (having only had ps2 beforehand). The xbox for me is the better GAMING machine. I use ps3 for bluray and media streaming thats it.

Oh and MS haven't had they DB hacked releasing their users data.

Yeah, I'm a little confused on this as well. You could easily say that a PS3 + PC would give you the same gaming and feature list as an X360 with a standalone bluray player, but with one major exception: PS3 exclusive games (God of War, LittleBigPlanet, MAG, fl0wer, Uncharted...) largely STAY PS3 exclusives. X360 exclusives (Halo, Mass Effect, Gears of War, Viva Pinata, Braid, Castle Crashers...) either get later ports to PS3 or the PC (With notable improvements). Also, while it may not be your sort of thing, which console has FreeRealms and Home, and will be getting DC Universe added to the Free-to-Play MMO category in a week or so? Not the 360. (PC has FreeRealms and DCU, of course) Casual gaming has grown, Sony's recognised this, and is trying to extend its appeal.

Not only that, but the recent trend of 'upgrading' PS2 and PSP games as well as PSN availability of PSX classics help buff out the PS3 library with more gaming that will never touch the 360's world.

As far as the motion-control battle, I'll take High Velocity Bowling over Wii Bowling anyday. The finer control makes for a more lifelike bowling experience. Same with Wii Boxing. Why just settle for flicking the controller when you can follow through on a full punch with The Fight: Lights Out? Kinect has a high point in its Dance games, but nothing much else. The most critically lauded Kinect game at E3 was Child of Eden... which is just about to release on the PS3 with Move support.

To me, you made a perfect case for the PS3, but at the end, your decision to give the title to the 360 was that it's 'different'. I honestly can't agree.

Gonna have to go with the Dreamcast. Still unmatched. But since it is not choice then XBOX360 for Gaming and PS3 for watching movies and Wii for the kiddies. So pick the one that is best at what you prioritize. PS3 And Wii have abysmal gaming networks even though they are free. I gladly pay for Xbox Live. Now PS3 has the best hardware bar none, it is more reliable and has the best movie experience. VUDU HDX is amazing and they are one of the best Blu-Ray players. I prefer Kinect over Move but I think the opposite can be successfully argued. I think allot of people on both sides are arguing to justify their purchase so I usually ignore those guys but all three systems have their pros and cons so you have to decide based on your tastes what is more important to you.

You don't need Windows Media Center to stream at all... music and videos can come to the console just through Windows Media Player, Zune, or a third party program like Tversity if you're on XP, and every OS since then supports the 360 by default. The console also DOES support USB Hard drives but only up to 20GB which, in honesty, should be more than enough since you don't have crazy gigantic updates on the Xbox and most media isn't all that hefty.

I do agree that Netflix should be accessible without the premium service subscription but the 360 just got another leg up over Sony now that it's getting full on television services from Verizon and Comcast as well as HBO.

I do agree that Netflix should be accessible without the premium service subscription but the 360 just got another leg up over Sony now that it’s getting full on television services from Verizon and Comcast as well as HBO.

For the PSN unfortunately, free means that there will be down times. Has everyone forgotten the PSN hack and PSN was down for a month? MS might be overpriced but I've never experienced any down time, plus the controller rocks.

Oh Allen Heffley, it clearly states in the article that this is an opinion... not a fact, chill out lol

The article argues that the PS3 is the one he can't live without, then at the end, he just declares the XBox the one he can't live without... doesn't seem to add up.

The absolute deal killer for the xbox is how Netflix was implemented. If I'm already paying for Netflix, why do I need a Live Gold account. No other console forces you to pay for their premium service to get netflix! Not to mention how it it supports usb flash drives but not hard drives and the fact you have to have Windows Media Center running on your pc to support streaming.

Oh and no to mention the FREE exclusive content PS3 gamers get on AAA Multiplatform games.

Assassins Creed Brotherhood
Assassins Creed RevelationsLA NoireRed Dead RedemptionMafia 2Batman Arkham AsylumBattlefield Bad Company 2Battlefield 3Mortal KombatStreet FighterMass Effect 2FEAR
Saints Row 3

I mean Mass Effect and Saints Row WERE Xbox exclusives. Now WE get FREE content you either can't have or must pay for. Even though we have FREE online and Xbox gamers pay $300 every 5 years for online play.

35 million xbox live users, not all gold so figure at least 25 million gold members. $60/year = $1,500,000,000 EVERY YEAR.

Yet they won't lower their console cost, the yare the only one pay to play, they don't hold onto your exclusives AND they don't give you the FREE content we get in multi plat games.

YES I hate xbox and I see no point in supporting their overpriced hardware and services.
