Not having to worry about either seems like the least amount of work to me. Steam is the future and it is grand.

I don’t mind download games.. but you better not charge the same price or more as physical media. It really erks me to see newish games discounted like crazy on xbox/ps3 and full retail price for PC.

Searching for no cd cracks, then dealing with how messed up your computer becomes, seems like a lot more work then getting up to put discs in to play.

Uh, no. The only reason physical discs are still better is because digital downloads suck – if Origin or Steam go down (which they do a lot), your game crashes or freezes… Besides, what the hell is a PSP Go :-)?

The only games I get with physical media anymore are Collector Editions that have artbooks or nice maps or something along those lines.

Otherwise everything goes through Steam.

As my wife said: Do you realize how much room all the games on Steam would take up if we had physical copies?

Sorry. I’m lazy. I don’t want to have to get up and put a disc in to play a game. I’m tired of searching for no-cd cracks. I’d rather click an item from a list of the games I own and be done with it.

Tough to compare the two. PS3 games are around 8 GB, so for a serious gamer you’re talking a pretty big drive, and will the game companies allow us to download games again if a drive crashes, b/c backing that up isn’t very realistic.

A lot has changed since the PSPgo. More and more people are getting smartphones. This makes them get used to buying apps without actually physically owning something. Once they get used to that, they should also be more open to the same idea applying to their gaming consoles at home.
